The Middle Barn

The Middle Barn is a traditional Scottish stone building that has been improved to form warm, luxury accommodation for up to two couples. The barn contains an internal entrance porch leading to a small hall, a large lounge, two double bedrooms, a shower room and toilet, a guest toilet, and large kitchen, utility and dining area

The lounge is 20’ x 16’ and contains a feature stone fireplace fitted with a thermostatically controlled Vermont Castings wood burning stove. The floor is engineered oak. The couches are by Ekornes makers of Stressless furniture. There is also, a rocking chair, Freeview satellite 32” flatscreen television and a Hifi audio system for CD and cassette tape. A modern piano is available for those with the skill to play it. The utility area of the kitchen contains a small library and a selection of traditional games and puzzles. A door to the right of the fireplace leads onto a raised walled patio with views over the surrounding countryside.

The kitchen area is fitted with handmade designer yellow pine kitchen units. It has a full oven and hob. A dishwasher, fridge, and washing machine together with a microwave oven are fitted in the utility area. A small oak table for four is situated next to the window. There is a larger table that can be erected in the lounge for more formal eating.

The utility area contains the airing cupboard and oil fired central heating boiler. Ironing and vacuuming equipment is stored in a cupboard in the hall.

The bedrooms are furnished with double beds, the smaller room with a 4’6” and the other a 5’. A short hall leads to a fully tiled luxury shower room fitted with handbasin, toilet and large shower cabinet with power shower.
